 The Fifth Congressional District is home to thousands of federal employees and retirees, both military and civilian. For two decades, Congressman Hoyer has been a leader in Congress on issues affecting federal employees. He repeatedly fights for higher cost of living adjustments and he was a lead sponsor of the Federal Pay Comparability Act in 1990. This law attempts to ensure that federal employees get paid comparably to similar jobs in the private sector. Hoyer Applauds Passage of the Federal Employees Paid Parental Leave Act
WASHINGTON, DC - Congressman Steny H. Hoyer (MD) released the following statement this evening after the U.S. House of Representatives passed the Federal Employees Paid Parental Leave Act (H.R. 626), which would provide four weeks of paid leave to Federal employees for the birth or adoption of a child.
