Congressman Hoyer is committed to public education and believes that we must get our fiscal house in order so that we can adequately invest in this crucial priority. As a Senior Member of the Appropriations Subcommittee on Labor, Health and Education, Congressman Hoyer has gained tremendous experience on education issues. Congressman Hoyer introduced the Full Service Community Schools Act, modeled after the highly successful Judy Centers throughout Maryland, that would provide funding for public elementary or secondary schools that coordinate multiple educational and social service programs in partnerships with school districts, community-based organizations and public/private partnerships.
